2025 - Thank You

2025 was a year of intensity and growth, for all of the ups and downs, I am deeply grateful to all the musicians, audience members and people whom made it what it was. Thank you - Below is a small summery of the year, I hope you enjoy it.

Welcoming the ‘Zarek Silberschmidt Trio’

Thanks to the incredible Sophie Lüssi on Violin and the phenomenal Gianni Narduzzi on the Double Bass, the ‘Zarek Silberschmidt Trio’ is now alive. I can’t express how immensely proud I am to not only have musicians of this calibre to play with, but have the trio under my own name. Be sure to come to one of our many concerts happening in 2026.

Another great musician with whom I could collaborate with in 2025 is the wonderful Maxance Leda, Vocalist and Bassoonist from Lausanne. Focusing on Chanson and arranging pieces for the stripped back setting of a guitar and vocal. This duet has been a great exercise in musicality and creativity. More from Maxance I will come soon!

When making these blogs, it’s often challenging to condense an entire year of work into a few highlights, 2025 is no exception. Of the many concerts that took place in that year, a moment that touched me profoundly was performing at the Grappelli Django Summer camp, where I could share the stage with some of the biggest names of acoustic Jazz, it was a big honor.

While at the Grapelli Django camp, a highlight among highlights was being part of this performance of Minor Swing, where over 60 musicians played Grappeli and Django’s original solo.

2025 also gave the opportunity to perform as a soloist at two festivals, both ‘Em Bebbi Sy Jazz’, Basel, and ‘Festival Courant’ in Neuchàtel where wonderful hosts, playing on their stages brought me a lot of joy.

I took a big step back from making videos in 2025, though, there were still some additions to my Youtube channel.

Lastly but certainly not least, I had to opportunity to visit the incredible Django Festival in Fontainebleau, this is an event that has to be experienced in person. Musicians coming from all over to world to play together and share their love of music and playing. The photos do not do it justice.

And that was my 2025, again, my heartfelt thanks to everyone whom was a part of it and made it so special. Now it’s time to see what happens in 2026.

Z.
